It was identified by Hands at Work a couple of years ago that a childrens shelter was needed at the Mafambisa Care Point. This serves as a shelter from both the rain and also the sun. It needs to be big enough to accommodate all of the 100 children who visit the Care point!
Last year Neptune Cub pack approached me about raising some funds for Mafambisa! The cubs took part in a sponsored walk and raised over £500.
Edward Peake School have been a great supporter of our partnership for a number of years and this year on values day they did a special non uniform day and made bookmarks for the children. This raised a further £300 towards the children’s shelter.
It was a great and pleasant surprise when we got to Mafambisa on Monday to find that the new childrens Shelter was built and ready to be painted. Thankyou to Neptune Cubs and to Edward Peake school for their generous gifts.
Guess what we are doing tomorrow- painting the shelter!!
Wonderful!
