Having arrived back from Kruger the previous evening, Monday morning began with men’s prayer at 7am. A few men from the Hands at Work hub gathered at the chapel. Adrian led men’s prayer and based the session on what prayer can mean to you. He did this by using the acronym ACTS which stood for Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication. He referred to several passages from Psalms when talking about A, C and T but when he came to talking about Supplication (The action of asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly) he referred to Matthew 7:7. This passage spoke about asking God for what we need i.e. everyone who searches will find and everyone who knocks will have the door opened. To end the session, we went round the circle giving our prayer requests out loud following which Adrian invited each person to pray for the person to their left.
